Street legal heavily modified BMW M3's launched

To celebrate BMW's success at the recent Nurburgring 24 hour race, expert German tuners G-Power have got their hands on the M3, turning the executives favourite into two modified powerhouses.

Creating the M3 GT2 and M3 Tornado CS, G-Power has utilised the help of supercharger kits on both cars, adding a titanium exhaust system, customised front and rear bumpers and replacing the wings with carbon fibre racing versions. Such alterations reduce the weight of the M3 by 150kg and increase top speed to 200mph.

The cars can surge from 0-60 in four seconds, powered by 600bhp and 242lb of torque - a step up from the standard BMW M3 for sure. Coming with six or seven speed gearboxes, the cars are sure to give a real feel of the racetrack.

Top Gear report that the collaboration between G-Power and BMW was a result of car enthusiasts wanting a Porsche 911 GT3 RS from a BMW garage. Indeed, the sports livery of the modified M3's could prompt some 911 owners to contemplate: ''I need to sell my Porsche,'' upgrading to a car that wouldn't look out of place at Silverstone.

And the pricing of these road legal offerings? The GT3 Tornado is expected to cost around £105,000 with the GT2 S coming in at approximately £120,000.
