Skoda tops customer poll as best car manufacturer
It's official: Skoda make the best cars, according to a customer poll by Which?.
As reported by The Telegraph, the survey which was published today has found that customers rate Skoda best, not only in value for money but service and after care too.
Over 64,000 car buyers were questioned, and have confounded critics by awarding the Czech manufacturer the accolade.
The Press Association claims that Skoda's fortunes have revived since it was taken over by by Germany's Volkswagen.
It's a further piece of good news for the company who have a had an exceptionally good 2010. As reported by Autobulbs Direct, Skoda announced record sales for the first half of the year yesterday. In the first six months of 2010, Skoda sold over 23,000 cars despite the withdrawal of the scrappage scheme.
Skoda UK director Robert Hazelwood said that Skoda has sold over 60% more cars in the first half of 2010 when compared to the same period in 2009. "Taking into account our record order bank of nearly 11,000 cars awaiting delivery to customers, we are tracking towards a record-ever sales result in the UK for 2010," he said.
Lexus came second in the league table of manufacturers, which is the luxury arm of Toyota, who themselves were rated the third most reliable manufacturer. The Telegraph claims will be some comfort to Toyota after their dismal year following the motor industry's biggest ever recall.
Japanese manufacturers also did well in the poll. The Honda Accord topped satisfaction tables for the best individual car, whilst the new hybrid the CR-Z was labelled the best sports model.
