Saab 9-4X poised for LA Auto Show debut
Saab has confirmed that the new 9-4X crossover will make its official debut at the LA Auto Show in November.
Back in June, Saab announced in a press release that the 9-4X would be unveiled 'later this year.' However, a recent post on the LA Auto Show's Twitter account confirmed November as the official date.
The 9-4X is set to become the second vehicle launched by Saab's new owners Spyker. It is likely to play an important role in the Swedish firm's future, as demand for crossover vehicles continues to soar.
According to Auto Express, Saab's designers were keen to stamp their unique style on the 9-4X and this is reflected in the distinctive 'ice-block' lines of the exterior.
Photos published by Motor Authority earlier this month show that the 9-4X will look almost identical to Saab's 9-4X BioPower concept. US production is likely to get underway in Mexico later this year, and the car should hit UK showrooms in mid 2011.
If you plan to sell a car for cash and buy a new Saab, the 9-4X will certainly provide an attractive option. It is likely to feature a 2.8-litre V6 turbo engine, which should provide a good balance between performance and fuel-efficiency.
In a press release for the 9-4X BioPower concept, Saab said the vehicle embodied "a Scandinavian principle of simplicity of form, with clean and uncluttered lines, free of any cladding, moulding or roof bars."
The 9-4X is likely to share the same design, so we can expect a "dynamic, driver-focused vehicle" inspired by "Scandinavian values in design and respect for the environment".
