Prices for new Ford C-Max to start from £16,745

Ford has announced that prices for its new five-seat C-Max will start from £16,745 when it goes on sale next month.

According to What Car?, the new five-seat C-Max will go on sale at the same time as the Grand C-Max - a larger seven-seat model that will cost from £18,745.

With the C-Max, Ford is hoping to attract car buyers who would usually look for a standard hatchback, but who want added practicality and a more sporty feel.

The entry-level Zetec model features a 104bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine, and also comes with air conditioning, alloy wheels, leather steering wheel, Bluetooth and USB connectivity as standard.

As for the Titanium model, standard features include keyless start, cruise control and automatic front headlights. Titanium models come with either a 123bhp 1.6-litre petrol or a four-cylinder 148bhp 1.6 Ecoboost engine, with prices starting at £19,745.

Mark Simpson, marketing director for Ford of Britain, said that the updated C-Max continued Ford's tradition for design and drive quality. He also hinted that many of the new features would be shared by the new Focus, set to launch next year.

"When C-MAX was launched in 2003 it preserved all the brand's most important qualities including style, comfort and driving quality, but added more flexibility and space to the Focus package," Mr Simpson said in a Ford press release.

"The new Ford C-MAX and Grand C-MAX are priced to offer customers best value for money whilst still introducing many exciting new technologies which will feature on the all-new Focus due next year," he added.
