New offering from Bentley
For £200,000 you could buy a London flat the size of a postage stamp or to be rather more decadent, you could spend your cash for cars like the new Bentley Mulsanne.
Arguably, the Bentley is bigger than your average studio apartment at 5.5 metres long and its bulk is carried elegantly by 21 inch wheels. Something of this size and grandeur needs to be substantially powered to ensure that owners won't be overtaken by the latest hot hatch. The Mulsanne fails to disappoint, boasting a twin-turbocharged V8 engine that provides 1,020Nm of torque via an 8 speed gearbox - that's certainly nothing to be sniffed at. Nor is the Mulsanne's sheer speed, with 0 - 60 reached in 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 184mph.
AutoExpress report that in typical high-end style, Mulsanne car buyers get to choose from a veritable array of colours to adorn their vehicle - 100 to be precise. If buyers manage to decide on the exterior, Bentley offers 9 different interior choices, ranging from leather to wood options. This amount of buyer input makes sure that the car is the epitome of custom made.
The Mulsanne is the first independently manufactured Bentley for 80 years and bases its quality on the Bentley's of the 1920's, ensuring that the design will remain strong for future generations.
Dirk van Braeckel, head of Bentley's design team, commented on drawing up plans for the new model, saying: ''Hundreds of cars were the subject of a painstaking review to define highly challenging targets for every facet of the new Mulsanne's interior. This embraced key elements, such as materials, colour harmony and craftsmanship, ensuring the new Mulsanne will become the purest expression of Bentley design yet.''
