Men splurge £5k more than women on cars
Male car buyers are prepared to splurge more when buying a car than their female counterparts, new research shows.
Research conducted by FindsYouCars.com revealed men are willing to spend as much as £5k more on a new car than women. On average, men will spend approximately £14k on their next car whereas women generally are prepared to spend a more modest £9k.
Recent studies by psychologists revealed women are more attracted to men who drive expensive, nice looking cars, so it comes as no real surprise that men are splashing out a third more money, in an effort to impress the ladies.
Men have also been proven to be the fussier sex when it comes to looking at new cars with 67 per cent particularly picky, yet determined to find exactly what they are looking for. Research found men were twice as fussy than women when shopping for a new car, with men from London being the worst, closely followed by those in the Midlands.
With women tending to view cars as more of a functional item, just one third of those questioned cared about the specifics of their next buy, ladies in the North East were found to be the least fussy in the UK.
FindYouCars analysed the requests of 500 used car buyers during September and found that BMW's were the most desired car brands for men, with Volkswagen securing the women's vote. As reported by Easier.com it is assumed that men are looking for large engines and impressive brands, whilst women are more concerned with comfort, space and colours.
