Meet the new Brabus project: The Mercedes SL65
Brabus, the famous German car tuners extraordinaire are set to launch an 800bhp uber slick version of the Mercedes SL65.
According to Top Gear, the multi award winning tuners who have brought us the likes of the Brabus S V12, based on the Maybach 57, are planning to boost the performance of the SL65, taking it to the next level in car royalty.
The SL65 Black Series currently reaches 0-60 in around 3.8 seconds, reaching top speeds of 198mph - such sheer power has prompted motoring correspondents to consider how Brabus can actually improve the high performance model.
Nevertheless, as Benz Insider puts it: ''Next to AMG, Brabus has the means and ends to turn your already out-of-the-ordinary Mercedes Benz into something that's even more sinister and death-defyingly powerful.''
Brabus has not failed to disappoint its legion of fans, getting an extra 130bhp out of the once 670 horse powered supercar by utilising two turbos, a new gearbox and exhaust - as well as a tasty bonnet extension to boot. Pushing the SL65 over the 200mph mark is no mean feat and one which Brabus has achieved without compromising on driveability.
Luxury car fanatics are expected to unite in their appreciation, such is the greatness of this car. So prepare to get cash for cars that don't meet such high standards and look to the Mercedes SL65.
