McLaren to open flagship London dealership

Automotive supremo's McLaren are set to open one of their biggest dealerships at One Hyde Park in London, it has been reported.

Replacing the old Park Lane site, the new store will house the new MP4-12C supercar and undoubtedly draw in the glitterati or those with money to burn. McLaren anticipate that the dealership will be one of the most successful in the world due to its exclusive Knightsbridge surroundings.

With Koenigsegg's, Lamborghini's and Bugatti's spotted in this affluent area - clamped or not - fickle exotica enthusiasts may be heard whispering, ''I need to sell my Lamborghini and get myself the latest McLaren...'' Or alternatively, simply add the supercar to their existing fleet.

McLaren Automotive's European regional director, Christian Marti, commented on the new development to Car Magazine, saying: ''One Hyde Park has already established itself as a landmark location in London - we are both proud and excited to be part of its future success.''

''The McLaren showroom at One Hyde Park will represent everything we strive for at McLaren: great attention to detail, form and function in its visual impact and atmosphere.''

The dealership is expected to open early next year to co-incide with the Spring unveiling of the MP4-12C.
