Mazda matte black special edition launched

Associated with supercars, matte black is seen as the epitome of cool and is only used to decorate the most lavish of vehicles.

Well until now, as Mazda are set to launch a special edition of their signature Mazda MX-5 roadster to celebrate the iconic model's 20th birthday.

The new matte black edition has been designed in collaboration between Mazda and a Parisian fashion house - its reported in autoblog to be the ''automobile equivalent of the little black dress.''

Launched at the Salon du Cabriolet, Coupe and SUV in Paris, the Mazda MX-5 Black and Matte Special Edition will be powered by the standard 2 litre engine with a passable 167 horsepower.

Sure to excite those selling a car and looking for a more sumptuous sportier model, the special edition MX-5 will be adorned with gems, rhinestones and crystals by Paris-based designer Laura Kczekotowska. Such designs will add bling to the classy looking matte black finish, which is sure to appeal to fashionistas and collectors alike.

If the sword wielding, little black sparkle dress and high heel wearing advertisement campaign is anything to go by, then women are the primary sales target. Get those wallets or should we say designer Louis Vuitton purses out...
