Lotus Evora S to debut at Paris Motor Show

A new high-performance version of the Lotus Evora will make an appearance at this year's Paris Motor Show, according to a leaked internal email.

While some analysts suspect that the memo was deliberately leaked, it nonetheless confirms that the Lotus Evora S will be at the Paris show, along with a host of other concepts and all-new models.

Few details of the Evora S were given in the email. However, Autocar report that a supercharger is likely to be fitted to the existing Evora's 3.5-litre V6 engine, increasing power to more than 350bhp with around 300lb ft of torque.

The Evora S should be able to race from 0-62mph in under 5 seconds, and hit top speeds of more than 175mph. Autocar add that the current Evora's chassis was designed specifically to enable the fitting of superchargers in later models.

According to The Motor Report, Lotus is keen to break into the lucrative luxury performance car market, and the range of new vehicles on show in Paris should provide visitors thinking "I want to sell my Porsche" with food for thought.

Steve Doyle, chief engineer at Lotus, hinted that even more new models will be added to the company's range in the near future. "We're going to expand the model range quite significantly," he told BBC News.

"There's going to be a lot happening at Paris," he added.
