Lamborghini releases teaser photo of Murcielago successor

Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has released its first teaser photo of the car that is widely tipped to replace the iconic Murcielago.

A photo of Lamborghini's new concept has been published by various motoring news sources today, and it is thought that the Italian giant plans to release five more images before an official unveiling in Paris later this month.

While the first photo reveals little about how the car will look, it is clear that the new concept will feature high-gloss-coated carbon fibre bodywork and a two-tone colour scheme.

This would suggest that Lamborghini is sticking to its pledge to reduce the weight of its new vehicles, with carbon fibre likely to form a major part of the car's design.

Lamborghini has so far given little away with regards to the new car's specification. However, Autocar speculates that it will weigh less than 1500kg and achieve a 0-62mph time of around 3.0 seconds.

According to Car Magazine, all that accompanied the newly-released photo was a text saying: "Lamborghini. Sound and light. Paris 2010. Discover the way to the future of supersports cars."

The new photo is sure to whet the appetite of luxury motorists, and many of them may start thinking: "I want to sell my Lamborghini Murcielago and replace it with one of those."

Potential buyers may have to wait a little while longer, however, as the new car is not expected to launch until spring 2011.
