Hyundai tops satisfaction survey

The Hyundai i30 is the most satisfying car to own according to the Auto Express Driver Power Survey 2010.

The manufacturer was the surprise winner of the annual reliability and satisfaction poll, trouncing the likes of last year's winner the Jaguar XF and the third placed Skoda Octavia, becoming the first Korean car maker to win the elusive survey.

23,000 respondents took part in the survey, which provided good news for those Hyundai owners looking to sell. Car buyers too will be paying close attention to such surveys at a time when reliability, eco credentials and value for money are of the utmost importance.

Editor in chief of Auto Express, David Johns, commented on the survey saying: ''This is a huge breakthrough for Hyundai - over the years, owners have told us how reliable their cars are and how good value they are too. But this is the final proof that they can now match that with real all-round satisfaction.''

The Telegraph reports that unfortunately for Vauxhall, its popular Corsa model, recently promoted with a lengthy advertising campaign, came in last position. To worsen the blow, the car manufacturer's Astra filled the second to last spot.

Coming in behind the Hyundai i30, was the ever popular Volkswagen Golf, Renault Megane, Rover 75, Mercedes E Class and the Toyota Prius to name a few.

The full set of results are to be released in the magazine edition of Auto Express, later this week.
