Honda Jazz gets Paris debut
Honda's Jazz hybrid will make its first public appearance next month, according to reports.
The petrol-electric crossover - the first of its kind to be available on the supermini market - will go on display at the Paris Motor Show, which kicks off in just over a month's time.
Auto Express say that the Jazz will feature the same petrol electric IMA hybrid system used by Honda's Insight, combining an 87bhp 1.3-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a CVT gearbox and an electric motor.
Fuel efficiency and emissions details have not yet been released. However, it is thought that the Jazz should be able to manage around 65mpg, emitting 100g/km of carbon dioxide.
Motorists thinking of selling a car and upgrading to a more eco-friendly model are positively spoilt for choice at the moment. With the addition of the Jazz, Honda alone now boast four petrol-electric hybrids in their range.
In terms of design, the new Jazz features blue-tinted headlights, a new grille and remodelled front bumper, as well as clear lenses for the rear lights. According to Car Magazine, Honda describe the revised taillights as a "chrome tailgate garnish.''
The Jazz is expected to roll onto UK forecourts at the beginning of 2011. Auto Express speculate that it may become the cheapest hybrid available, with buyers likely to have to part with £16,000 to get hold of one.
