First Venom delivered

The Bugatti Veyron rivalling Hennessey Venom is here - the first production car completed at the firm's Silverstone plant is en route to its lucky new owner, according to Auto Express.

To refresh one's memory, the top spec twin turbo model of the Venom can deliver a bite of 1,200bhp, reaching 0-62mph in less than 3 seconds. Based on a Lotus Elise, the Venom revamps the look by using all new carbon fibre bodywork, with an adjustable rear wing. With a top speed of 260mph, not much will keep up with the power of the Venom, surely prompting Ferrari owners left behind at the lights to woefully proclaim ''I need to sell my Ferrari and buy this hair raising Hennessey!''

Chassis number 01 is heading over to the UAE to be delivered by DiMora Motorcars. To keep car buyers envious, this first model is the full-bodied 1200bhp version, with UK car enthusiasts left with mere images to stare at.

Prices of this obliterating supercar have now been released to the general public, with the most powerful Venom commanding £680,000. Certainly not cheap, but no-one will be able to catch you up to tell you otherwise. Moreover, as Hennessey put it themselves in a press release, ''with the power and emotion of an American supercar with the refinement of Britain's renowned racing heritage'' the Venom is sure to succeed.
