Compromise on miles or colour for a cheaper Jaguar XK

It is possible to get a Jaguar XK at an affordable price, but it may be necessary to compromise on certain features, says a motoring expert.

MSN Cars contributor John Glynn explained that people can buy a Jaguar at a competitive price if they do their homework and spend some time looking for the right one.

In his view, people are better off sticking with an automobile with a full service history and reasonable mileage, since this will be easier to move on when owners decide to sell a car for cash, but some compromise is usually required to score a bargain.

Mr Glynn said: "£6k is about entry level for an XKR Coupe, as long as you're happy with high miles and/or difficult colours: think champagne with light beige trim, or repainted British racing green from original red."

While bargain hunters may be looking at XKs from a few years ago, it will probably not have escaped their attention that Jaguar's newest addition to the XK family is currently doing the rounds at the top international automobile shows, according to newzy.net's Georges Dupuis.

The Jaguar XKR-S, which debuted at Frankfurt Motorshow in 2011, is the manufacturer's fastest ever production car and is currently on display at the 2012 Qatar Motor Show.
