Austin Powers Jag on ebay

The 1970 Jaguar E Type used to promote the 1999 'Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery' film is up for sale on online auction site ebay.

The groovy car is relatively untouched, covering only 4,000 miles in its lifespan, reflecting its £40,000 'buy it now price'. Whilst the sale won't touch the price of James Bond's 1964 Aston Martin DB5, which reached $6 million, it could prompt current Aston owners to comment: ''I need to sell my Aston Martin,'' or simply invest in this iconic Jaguar to add to their collection.

Car buyers interested in the E-Type could imagine themselves driving around London exclaiming ''Yeah baby yeah'' - one of the most famous lines from the spy comedy. Kitted out in full union jack livery, the individual paint job took over four hundred man hours to complete, according to Top Gear. The interior is just as radical, with custom 70's carpets, red white and blue interior, as well as coming with a New Line cinema letter, confirming the car's role.

Used on the US leg of the promotional tour, the left hand drive Jaguar has a mirror image in the actual movie model which now lives in Jaguar's museum in the UK.

Car Advice reports that the Jag's current keeper also own a Ferrari from the film 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' and has a ''penchant for pop culture cars.'' With much media speculation, the car is certain to be snapped up by another retro connoisseur.
